74,310 people claiming unemployment benefits
“74,310 people claiming unemployment benefits across Wales”
unsupported Retired in version 2.0.0, 2 October 2026.
Where it appeared: Home page: large number and the connection table.
Why it failed
The live query to the ONS service had a wrong parameter and never returned data, so the page showed hard-coded approximate figures labelled January 2026. They had no source.
Evidence
What the site says now
Fixed to query the service correctly; shown as a live claimant count, not as 'unemployed'. If the service is down, the column is hidden, not filled with guesses.
